The Osaka Municipal Symphonic Band (OMSB) was established in 1923 at the ardent request of Osaka citizens. It is Japan's oldest professional symphonic wind ensemble and has received international acclaim. With its headquarters currently located in Osaka Castle Park, the OMSB has regular performances at Festival Hall and The Symphony Hall, in addition to appearing in a variety of concerts and festivals. Their activities cover many fields such as recording classics and introducing new works from Japan and abroad. They have invited guest conductors and soloists on a regular basis and premiered over 50 works in Japan.
